We’re celebrating our social partnerships and university offer successes
17th February, 2022
Huge congratulations to four of our students who, supported by our social partnership programme with Tutoring to Thrive, have been offered places at Cambridge, Oxford and LSE next academic year.
Tutoring to Thrive is an education-focused social mobility charity, supporting sixth form students across two academies in Southeast London. We have been delighted to work in partnership with them over the last five years, devising programmes that give students access to weekly tuition sessions in all their subjects, the opportunity to complete an EPQ, university admissions support, and help with summer school and work experience applications.
Our goal is to empower students from all walks of life to expand their horizons and achieve academic success. We are therefore delighted at the success of our students this year, and the incredible achievements of the students in our last cohort who are now studying at Cambridge and UCL.

“Enjoy Education has helped me develop academically and personally throughout an extended period of uncertainty.
With the overwhelming amount of support from my Geography, English and Sociology tutors, the gaps caused by disruptions to my education during sixth form were filled and my confidence in each subject boosted. In addition to this, my tutors have gone above and beyond during the holidays to provide me with the essential knowledge needed to access university.
I firmly believe that getting to know my tutors personally helped to tailor my experience when learning, while also having a support system that I could rely on. By participating in the mock Oxbridge interviews, not only did I get the opportunity to meet some of my tutors in person, but I was also given the opportunity to exercise the knowledge I had gained. As a result, I’m certain that Enjoy Education has contributed greatly to my experience when applying for and receiving an offer from the University of Cambridge.”

“I have loved being a part of the Tutoring to Thrive Programme.
The kindness and help provided by my tutors has really made my experience of the programme a positive one. The support they have given me in my subjects each week has enabled me to achieve top grades in all of my A-Levels, and the extra sessions providing specific support for applying to university helped me secure an offer from LSE for Politics and Economics. Overall, I have had a really positive experience and would 100% recommend this programme to anyone who has the opportunity to take part in it!”
– Madison, Offer Holder at LSE
“This programme has provided consistent and valuable support during my A-level studies.
It really helps having someone outside of my Sixth Form to go over topics with me; someone who can help me look at and understand concepts/topics from a different angle. Having my tutors’ support over the past year has helped me maintain confidence in my academic abilities and allowed me to prepare for what turned out to be successful Oxford interviews, without worrying about if it would put me behind in my studies. My tutors Andrew, Erin and Sara are super friendly and helpful – I doubt I’d be here without them!”
– Shameika, Offer Holder at Oxford
“The consistent support I receive from Tutoring to Thrive is invaluable.
From having a lack of confidence in my academic potential when I first joined the programme, the mentors and tutors I have worked with have not only improved my mindset, but also kept me motivated throughout the university application process, and my sixth form experience as a whole.
Out of the many ways the programme has helped me, the mock interviews I received before I was even invited to interview at Cambridge were the most unforgettable. This practice forced me to prepare for interviews earlier than I had planned to (which as a procrastinator, was very beneficial!), allowed me to become accustomed to the nature of an interview, and also taught me to expect the unexpected, and be comfortable with this – a mandatory skill that I lacked prior to my mock interviews. Without this experience, it is unlikely that I would have received my offer from Cambridge, and I will forever be grateful for having the opportunity to engage in this programme.”
